Roman Kostomarov’s wife Oksana Domnina stated that there was no deterioration in the figure skater’s condition
Oksana Domnina, wife of Olympic champion in ice dancing Roman Kostomarov, denied the deterioration of the figure skater in intensive care. Her words are quoted by TASS.
“There is no deterioration at the moment,” she said, adding that the condition of the 45-year-old athlete remains stably serious.
Earlier it was reported about the deterioration of Kostomarov’s condition. It was noted that the pneumonia diagnosed in the figure skater became bilateral, he is still connected to a ventilator.
On January 12, information appeared that the skater fell ill a week before going to the hospital, but instead of contacting specialists, he was treated by swimming in an ice hole. However, the father of the athlete Sergei Kostomarov denied this.
Kostomarov was hospitalized on 10 January. He is in intensive care under medical sedation. He was diagnosed with pneumonia in combination with influenza B. In addition to the ventilator, he is connected to a blood oxygenator.
