Flamengo from Brazil will have a new incentive if they manage to be crowned champion of the 2023 Club World Cup, which begins on February 1, after Conmebol announced a separate award.
The decision was given this Monday by Alejandro Domínguez, president of Conmebol, on his social network twitter and aims to encourage the Brazilians to achieve a title that they have not achieved so far.
Until now, the Club World Cup champion will receive a prize of 5 million dollars, but Flamengo has insured between two and three million dollars in case it does not reach the final, just for playing the semifinal, an instance to which it is classified as direct way.
In case of winning the crown, Domínguez announced that Conmebol will give him another 5 million dollars, to reach 10, just for winning two games: the semifinal and the final.

“Mengao” is committed to breaking a string of nine consecutive finals won by European teams, four of which have been lifted by Real Madrid, precisely the main rival of the Brazilians.
Both Flamengo and Madrid will start the tournament from the semifinal while waiting for rivals that come from previous instances. In the event that each one wins, they will be in the final to define the new champion.

Winning the Club World Cup will not only allow Flamengo to become the fourth team from their country to do so, after Corinthians, Sao Paulo and Internacional de Porto Alegre, they can also raise 33 million dollars, taking into account that by winning the Cup Last Libertadores obtained 23 million accumulated.
