Winger Ansu Fati was cut from the Spanish team this Saturday after an injury was found in the Barcelona’s draw against Celta de Vigo. The player will lose the games against Greece and Sweden, by World Cup qualifiers.
To replace Fati, coach Luis Henrique called up forward Raúl de Tomás, from Espanyol. Spain are the runners-up in Group B of the Qualifiers, with 13 points, two less than the Swedes. If they win their next two commitments, the team is guaranteed the 2022 World Cup.
Fati was one of the highlights of Barcelona against Celta. The young man scored the team’s first goal and participated in good moves in the first stage, when the Catalans opened up a 3-0 lead.
However, in the 43rd minute, the player felt a problem in his left thigh and had to leave the field. Barça informed that it will still carry out more conclusive exams to find out about the athlete’s situation. Defender Eric Garcia also left the game injured, but there are no updates on his status.
