“Only for him the change of citizenship will be a loss. Did he leave for the USA? Well good luck to him. This is his personal choice. He can do whatever he wants with his life, ”the specialist commented on the athlete’s decision.
Earlier on Tuesday, January 10, Nazarychev said that he had left because of the difficult political situation. “I stopped feeling safe in my country and thought about what options can be found,” the skater explained. He added that the standard of living in the United States is fundamentally different from the Russian level, describing it with the words “Russia was not even close.”
21-year-old Nazarychev is the bronze medalist of the 2020 World Junior Championships in the competition of sports couples. Together with his partner Yulia Artemyeva, he was included in the reserve team of Russia for the 2022 Olympic Games. The duo disbanded in June 2022.
