Choreographer Stavisky said that Roman Kostomarov was not in intensive care due to coronavirus
Two-time world champion in ice dancing, choreographer Maxim Stavisky told the details of the condition of Roman Kostomarov, who ended up in intensive care. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
Stavisky confirmed that Kostomarov was diagnosed with pneumonia, he was connected to a ventilator. Doctors ruled out that he had coronavirus. The choreographer added that the 45-year-old former figure skater “coughed” during performances, but did not seek medical help. His temperature did not rise.
Earlier it became known that on the night of January 10, Kostomarov was taken to one of the Moscow clinics. In the morning his condition worsened, doctors assessed him as serious.
Together with Tatyana Navka, Kostomarov became the Olympic champion in ice dancing, twice won the world championship, three times became the champion of Europe and the final of the Grand Prix series of the International Skating Union. In 2006, the duo ended their career.
