Playing at home, leaders Chelsea stumbles against Brunley and sees opponents approaching in the table

This Saturday afternoon, the English Premier League leader Chelsea received at Stamford Bridge the modest Burnley, who is fighting relegation. The hosts won the match until its final stretch, but suffered the tie by 1 to 1. The result shortens the difference between the Blues in relation to the vice-leader Manchester City in the table.

Chelsea’s goal was still in the first stage. At 33 minutes of the ball rolling, N’golo Kanté, centered, opened for Reece James on the right. The full-back looked to the area and gave a great cross, in the head of Kai Havertz, who, with freedom, opened the scoring.

However, in the second half, at 34, the visitors surprised and got the equalizer. Jay Rodríguez received a cross and, with his head, sent it to the feet of Matej Vydra, who sent it inside, leaving everything the same.

Even with the stumble, Chelsea maintain the isolated lead in the Premier League, with 26 points. However, the vice-leader City, after winning his match this Saturday against rival Manchester United, is approaching, with 23.

Meanwhile, even with the important point conquered, Burnley’s fight continues to be to leave the relegation zone, with eight points added and in 18th place.

For the next round of the Premier League, the leaders face Leicester City, away from home, on November 20th. Burnley faces Crystal Palace on the same day.
