Italian athlete Alessandro Braconi banned for 36 years for doping
Italian long distance runner Alessandro Braconi has been banned for 36 years. It is reported by Inside the Games.
The athlete will be able to return to competition on March 23, 2058. By that time, he will be 71 years old. In November last year, Braconi was found guilty of using doping, possession of prohibited substances and attempting to sell them. For this, the Italian was disqualified for 12 years.
Braconi’s suspension was tripled due to the fact that the athlete continued to compete in marathons. In addition, the Italian tried to register for one of the races as a volunteer.
On December 27, Russian high jumper Alexander Asanov was disqualified for doping. The athlete was suspended for two years.
