American fighter Colby Covington pulls out of fight against Swede Khamzat Chimaev

American mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Colby Covington pulled out of a fight against Swede of Chechen origin Khamzat Chimaev in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). It is reported by TASS.

“Colby does not plan to fight against Chimaev at the moment,” the American team said.

Earlier, Chimaev challenged Brazilian middleweight champion Alex Pereira. “Let me fight this guy, I’ll finish him off. This is easy money,” he wrote.

On September 11, Chimaev was supposed to meet American Nate Diaz in the main fight of the UFC 279 tournament. However, the Swede failed the weigh-in and was replaced by Tony Ferguson. As a result, Chimaev met with Kevin Holland in the second most important duel and won in the third minute of the fight. In total, Chimaev has 12 victories and not a single defeat.
