This Saturday, November 6 will take place in the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas one of the most important fights of the year: the Mexican Saúl Canelo Álvarez will face American Caleb Plant, by the dispute of the four boxing super middleweight titles.

The mexican boxer is the boxer who starts as the favorite in the battle, being the champion of three titles in the 76kg division: WBC (World Boxing Confederation), WBA (World Boxing Association) and WBO (World Boxing Organization), belts that will be up for grabs in Saturday’s fight.

For its part, the American will put his IBF title on the table (International Boxing Federation), which he has been in possession of since 2019 when he snatched it from Venezuelan José Uzcátegui. Thus, the winner of the fight will be established as absolute monarch at 168 pounds.

Canelo Álvarez will face the fight with a record of 56 wins, 2 draws and only one loss., which was against Floyd Mayweather on September 14, 2013. While Plant will do it with an undefeated 21 fights, of which 12 he has won by knockout.

The Mexican will return to the ring after six months of his last fight, being that the one that disputed against English Billy Joel Saunders, who ended up beating by corner retirement (after Álvarez caused an injury to his right cheekbone that did not allow him to continue) and snatching the WBO title.

For its part, Caleb Plant played his last fight on January 30 against American Caleb Truax, a fight that ended up winning by unanimous decision and that allowed him to retain his IFB title.

Although the fight will be played this Saturday, starting at 23:00, the rivalry between the two boxers was revived last September in the promotional confrontation of the fight. Canelo and Plant ended up punching after the American allegedly insulted the Mexican’s mother.

In case Álvarez wins, would become the first Latin American to be absolute champion of a division, after Argentine Brian Castaño tried unsuccessfully against Jermell Charlo.

In Ecuador and the rest of Latin America (with the exception of Mexico) the transmission will be free and will be in charge of ESPN Knockout and Star +. Meanwhile, in Mexican lands TV Azteca and Box Azteca will show them; and in the United States if you will have to pay the Pay per View (PPV) to access the evening.
