Croatian defender of the St. Petersburg “Zenith” Dejan Lovren left the club and moved to the French “Lyon”. This was reported on the website of the white-and-blue.

The management of Zenit thanked the 33-year-old football player for his professionalism and dedication, and wished him good luck in the new club. The details of the deal are not known.

Earlier, RB Sport learned that the St. Petersburg team will receive two million euros as part of the deal. Lyon must pay the blue-white-blue compensation for the early termination of the contract with the defender, since Lovren had to spend another six months at Zenit.

At the World Championships in Qatar, Lovren won the bronze medal as part of the Croatian national team. The defender took part in six matches, in which he scored one assist.

Lovren moved to Zenit in 2020. Together with the blue-white-blue football player became a two-time champion of Russia and a three-time winner of the country’s Super Cup. He already played for Lyon from 2010 to 2013.
