Evgeni Malkin surpassed Sergei Fedorov in the list of the best Russian NHL scorers
Forward of the club of the National Hockey League (NHL) “Pittsburgh Penguins” Evgeni Malkin scored the puck in the regular season match against the “New Jersey Devils” and came in second place in the list of the best Russian scorers of the tournament. The puck allowed Malkin to score 1180 points (456 goals and 724 assists) in his NHL career and beat Sergey Fedorov in the ranking of the best Russian scorers (1179 points – 483 washers and 696 assists). The first line of the list is held by Washington Capitals forward Alexander Ovechkin, who has 1,452 points (803 goals and 649 assists).
Despite Malkin’s puck, Pittsburgh lost 2-4. After 36 games, the Penguins are seventh in the NHL Eastern Conference with 44 points.
Malkin has been playing in the league since 2006, having spent his entire overseas career with Pittsburgh. He was named to the NHL All-Star Team three times, participated in the All-Star Game four times, took the Conn Smythe Trophy, Calder Trophy and Hart Trophy once, and also became the top scorer of the season twice. Fedorov played in the league from 1990 to 2009. The Russian defended the colors of the Detroit Red Wings, Anaheim Ducks, Columbus Blue Jackets and Washington Capitals.
