She took the last place in the “PS” plebiscite. “Sad, surprised. I understand Fajdek”

Katarzyna Zdziebo is a Polish athlete who specializes in race walking. The past year has been a very successful one for her. She took part in three international events and finished each of them with a medal. In total, she won three silvers at the World Championships in Eugene and the European Championships in Munich. He also added a bronze medal at the world team championships held in Muscat.

Zdziebo disappointed with the last place in the “PrzeglÄ…d Sportowy” plebiscite

Despite this, the Pole took the last place in the recent plebiscite of “Przegld Sportowy”. In an interview with the portal, she did not hide her surprise, but at the same time she emphasized that it was not unfair.

– I must admit that I felt a little sad. I was surprised, but I know it’s the fans’ choice. This shows that in athletics, despite many successes, we still have a problem with reaching the fans. I have heard the opinions of fans and relatives that it is unfair, but I do not agree with this approach. My place in the plebiscite is fair and shows that in sport you have to earn everything. To be recognizable, it is not enough to just win a competition, but you have to spend a lot of time and money on other activities, she said.

Paweł Fajdek caused a great storm after the plebiscite. He said ironically that “he has to stop winning because the more titles he wins, the lower he ranks.” In the conversation, Zdziebo referred to his saint.

– It is clear that Paweł did not prepare his statements, and when he went on stage, he simply said what he thought. He’s completely sincere, and I respect such people very much. Besides, I have to admit that I understand his regret and agree with his opinion. I was wondering myself whether the stake of the plebiscite should not be the title of the most popular Polish sportsman. To win, you have to be by far the most popular player,” she added.

The vice-champion of Europe in heptathlon from Munich was among the nominees, but ultimately did not take a place in the top ten (12th place) of the plebiscite and did not receive the statuette. “I’m not in the top 10.
