Argentina footballer Lionel Messi reacts to Pele’s death
Argentina and PSG striker Lionel Messi on Instagram (social network banned in Russia; owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation) reacted to the death of the three-time world champion in the Brazilian team Pele.
“Rest in peace, Pele,” wrote the player. Also, the 35-year-old Argentine posted two joint photos with the Brazilian champion.
Pele died at the age of 82 on December 29. Doctors at the Albert Einstein Clinic, where the former football player was located, called the failure of internal organs against the background of progressive cancer the cause of death. Pele will be buried in a vertical cemetery in the Brazilian city of Santos.
Pelé is a three-time World Cup Champion with Brazil. In 1999, the International Olympic Committee recognized the Brazilian as the athlete of the century.
