Hockey player Ovechkin scored the 803rd goal in the NHL and reduced the gap on Gretzky to 91 goals
Russian forward “Washington Capitals” Alexander Ovechkin scored the puck in the regular season of the National Hockey League (NHL) against the “Ottawa Senators”. The results are available on the league website.
The meeting took place on December 30 and ended with the score 4:3 in overtime in favor of the Canadian team. Ovechkin scored early in the second period. The puck became the 803rd for the Russian career in the league. Thus, the striker strengthened his position in the list of the best NHL snipers and reduced the gap from the leading Canadian Wayne Gretzky to 91 goals.
Gretzky is the best scorer in NHL history. On account of his 894 abandoned washers. Ovechkin came in second on the night of December 24 with a brace against the Winnipeg Jets.
