Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James agreed with the NFL postponing the game between the Buffalo Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals after Damar Hamlin suffered a massive blow to the chest.

The Buffalo Bills player is in critical condition after receiving cardiopulmonary resuscitation as a result of the abrupt shock he ended up enduring.

“I have seen the play, but I don’t know what exactly happened. My thoughts and my super prayers go to heaven, for the boy’s family, for him, for the NFL family,” LeBron said at a press conference after the Lakers’ triumph at the Charlotte Hornets.

“(Postponing the match) is the right decision. Player safety in all sports is always top of mind. It was a terrible thing to watch, I just wish the best for the guy, for the city of Buffalo, for the Bills franchise,” he added.

“I am a huge fan of the NFL, of American football, you never want to see things like that, even in the top competitions in which they play,” said the figure of the Lakers.

Hamlin was struck, scrambled to his feet, and then collapsed to the ground and received medical attention for more than 20 minutes.

Medical attendants at Paul Brown Stadium, home of the Bengals, entered the field to perform CPR on the player, after which he was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

Players gathered around Hamlin, many of them kneeling in prayer during treatment.

The play in which the player was injured occurred on a Bengals drive in which Tee Higgins caught a pass from Joe Burrow, on his run he was tackled by Hamlin, who was hit chest high by Higgins. The defensive back got up after the tackle but immediately vanished, hitting his head on the grass as he fell.

Shortly after the injury, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell reported that Hamlin is in critical condition at a Cincinnati hospital.
