The monarch of the Copa Sudamericana will return to the south of the continent in January three months after his last coronation. On Tuesday, Independiente del Valle announced its preseason tour of Argentine and Uruguayan soil, where it will hold three friendly matches.

Through social networks, the Negriazul team reported that they have agreed on verification games against San Lorenzo de Almagro, Deportivo Maldonado and Estudiantes de La Plata, which will take place between January 15 and 21.
Although the venues of the matches are not mentioned, Estudiantes de La Plata advanced that they will host Independiente del Valle at the Jorge Luis Hirschi stadium -officially called Estadio UNO- in the framework of the Night of the Lion. This commitment is scheduled for January 21 and will be the only one for the Ecuadorian team on Argentine soil. After the international tour, he will return to the country.
The first of the three friendlies will be against San Lorenzo de Almagro, a game that will take place on Sunday the 15th at the Domingo Burgueño Miguel stadium, nicknamed El Campus, located in Maldonado, Uruguay.

Two days later (January 18) Independiente del Valle meets Deportivo Maldonado, probably at El Campus, where that Uruguayan team is based.
This 2023, Independiente del Valle faces LigaPro series A, Copa Ecuador and Copa Libertadores (from the group stage). The team of Argentine Martín Anselmi will know the identity of their rivals in Libertadores on March 22 when Conmebol draws the groups in Luque, Paraguay.
The verifications on Uruguayan and Argentine soil will also serve Independiente del Valle for its competition in the Recopa Sudamericana 2023, in round-trip duels, with Flamengo, which according to Conmebol were established for the dates of February 22 and March 1: the the first leg with the Negriazules as locals, and the one back at the home of the Brazilians, as champion of the Libertadores 2022.
