Qatari club released Xavi to Barcelona

Qatar Football Club Al-Sadd in Twitter announced an agreement with the Catalan Barcelona on the departure of coach Xavi.

The team representatives said that they would release the specialist. In this case, the Catalans will pay compensation for breaking the contract with the coach.

Barcelona’s interest in Xavi became known on 28 October. To reach an agreement, the club needed to resolve the issue of releasing the coach from obligations to Al-Sadd and agree on the headquarters and salary for the specialist.

On the same day, Dutchman Ronald Koeman was fired from his post as head coach of Barcelona. This happened after the defeat of the Catalans in the 11th round of the Spanish Championship against Rayo Vallecano with a score of 0: 1.

Xavi has spent most of his career playing for Barcelona as a midfielder. He has eight victories in the Spanish championship and four Champions League cups. He played 505 games for the Catalans and scored 58 goals.
