Ecuadorian continental teams stand out in the Tour of Costa Rica | Other Sports | Sports

Marco Tulio Suesca was the winner of the Tour of Costa Rica, that last Sunday closed its 56th edition in which the two Ecuadorian continental teams had an outstanding performance.

In his first appearance with the team, the coffee cyclist took the Movistar-Best PC to the top of the podium in the general classification.

The technological cyclist assumed the lead in the fifth stage and reached the tenth day with a difference of 2 minutes 46 seconds over his compatriot Carlos Gutiérrez, from the ranks of Team Banco Guayaquil-Ecuador, a record that he was able to defend without setbacks.

Second overall with Gutiérrez, the banking team consolidated itself as the best squad in the competition by winning the team classification.

from the same squad highlighted the Colombian Robinson Chalapud, last champion of the Tour of Ecuador, winner of the mountains classification, followed by his partner, the Ecuadorian Steven Haro.

Of the national pedaliststhree runners closed the test among the 20 best: Benjamín Quinteros and Haro (Banco Guayaquil), fourteenth and fifteenth, respectively, while Santiago Montenegro (Movistar) was classified in the twentieth box.

With this performance, the two continental teams of the country close their 2022 seasonbut already with our sights set on the start of next year, with the Vuelta al Táchira (Venezuela), scheduled from January 15 to 22. (D)
