Marlon Chito Vera and Cory Sandhagen, the fourth and fifth of the ranking bantamweight respectively, will meet on February 18 in the main event of UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas (Nevada), according to advances ESPN MMA. Vera had been looking for this fight since October, to close out 2022 as a title challenger, although he also challenged reigning champion Aljamain Sterling after the Jamaican successfully defended the division crown against TJ Dillashaw at UFC 280.
Chito He has only lost one of his last six fights and in this 2022 he was stellar in two events. First with a violent display against Rob Font that led him to win by decision, and then he starred in the card at UFC San Diego, where he knocked out former bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz.
