Paddle tennis is a sport that is becoming established in Ecuador and in this way the automotive brand Kia promised to contribute to the development of this discipline. One of those steps was to sponsor the Ecuador Pádel Fest Copa KIA.

The event had the participation of renowned stars of this sport, such as the Spanish Juan Lebrón Chincoa, who is number one in the International Padel Federation (FIP) ranking. In addition, the Argentines Juan Martín Díaz (51 in the FIP ranking) and Agustín Gómez Silingo (21) were present. They were joined by the greatest reference of the national padel: Carlos Luna, known among the players as ‘Charlie Moon’, who is the best placed Ecuadorian in the world ranking.

Padel, a mixture of tennis and squash, a booming sport

The four paddle players played the Ecuador Pádel Fest KIA Cup at the Rancho San Francisco club, located in Cumbayá (Quito). “Kia has transcended nationally not only for its excellent products, but for being an active part of the sport,” said Ricardo Rosales, executive president of Kia Ecuador.

The KIA Cup promotes and is part of the great growth that paddle tennis has had in the country, going from having 15 courts in Quito in 2016, to being in 11 provinces of the country with more than 200 fields.

It is a historical milestone for the Ecuadorian padel to see these figures play, something that is not very common, and that will be one of the many events that we are planning together with Kia.
