Athletic thrash Eldense to advance in the Cup (1-6)

The Athletic Club has completed a win in Elda against Deportivo Eldense, by 1-6to seal his pass to the round of 16 of the Copa del Reythe last one that was in play facing the raffle next saturday for the next playoff.

The result is somewhat misleading because the Eldense did not deserve such punishment. Athletic suffered in the first half hour against an opponent who defended them very well and even gave them a scare.

The one who did not forgive was Athletic, who in two rebounds and in six minutes sentenced the tie.

First Nico Williams scored, beating his marker to pick up the rebound from Stamatakis, who had made a great save on a first shot by Berenguer.

And shortly after, the one who took advantage of a new rejection was Berenguer, a first free kick from Yuri, to score the second.

A couple of actions by Eldense around the changing rooms threatened to reopen the clash, but once again they forgave their options and Athletic took advantage of theirs.

But those who fulfilled their obligation in the area were Zarraga, who finished off a cross from Muniain on the penalty spot, and Berenguer, who beat Stamatakis.

With the game already decided with 0-4 on the scoreboard, Eldense had the courage to score the goal of honour, a goal from the newly incorporated Soberón.

The thing did not stop there and Athletic scored two more goals. The 1-5 Correia clearing a cross from Berenguer towards his own goal and the 1-6 Muniain, to celebrate his good return to ownership.
