Leonardo Campana stays at Inter Miami

Inter Miami announced this Monday the contract renewals of the Ecuadorian striker Leonardo Campana and British coach Phil Neville, who extended their relationship until the end of the 2023 season.

Campana was confirmed in the Inter Miami squad after a brilliant season, in which he scored eleven goals and offered a valuable alternative in the periods of loss of the Argentine Gonzalo Higuaín.

The Ecuadorian was confirmed (execution of option in contract, Inter Miami detailed) by the club along with Costa Rican Ariel Lassiter, in a group that also includes Drake Callender, Bryce Duke, Robbie Robinson and Ryan Sailor.

Inter Miami made official the departure of Gonzalo Higuaín from the club, whose goodbye was already known since last monthwhen he announced his retirement from football.

The sports management of the Florida club also extended Phil Neville’s contract by one year, assuring that he “helped build a winning mentality.”

“It is a great honor to stay at Inter Miami. I have always thought long-term, I have always thought that I wanted to stay at this club for a long time,” Neville said in statements provided by the team.

Inter Miami qualified this year for the playoffs from MLS for the first time in its history and was eliminated in the first round by New York City. (D)
