“This is a fantastic moment for me. I am very happy to secure my future at Manchester City. In my opinion, this is the best football team in the world, with the best coach and the best trainers. It’s a privilege to be here and help this team achieve its goals”, he told the team’s official website.
“I feel like I learn every day and I’ve definitely improved as a goalkeeper since I got here. I contributed to our success last season, which was an amazing experience. I want to keep putting pressure on Ederson every day and take my chances,” he added.
Steffen arrived at Citizens in 2019, when it was purchased from the Columbus Crew, in the United States. Since then, he has played 16 matches for Pep Guardiola’s team – this season he has taken the field four times.
