Russian swimmer became European champion

Russian swimmer Svetlana Chimrova won the gold medal at the European Short Course Swimming Championships. The correspondent of “Lenta.ru” informs about it.

The 25-year-old Russian woman became the champion, winning the 200-meter butterfly. She beat Danish athlete Helena Rosendahl Bach. The bronze medal was won by a swimmer from Italy Ilaria Bianca.

On November 3, Russian Kliment Kolesnikov became the strongest in the 50 meters backstroke distance. The domestic swimmer updated the tournament record by covering the distance in 22.47 seconds.

The European Short Course Swimming Championships are being held in Kazan. The tournament will end on November 7.

In 2013, Chimrova won the bronze medal of the European Short Course Swimming Championships in the relay. The most successful start in the career of the Russian woman was the European Championship in Glasgow, where she won one gold and three silver.
