Norwegian skiers Even Nortug and Johannes Klebo ridiculed the criticism of Russian team coach Yuri Borodavko that they were given orders on how to compete in World Cup races. Their words lead NRK.

On September 20, Borodavko appreciated the desire of the Norwegian Johannes Klebo to compete with Russian athletes. He stated that he did not believe in the influence of Klebo’s words on the position of the International Ski Federation (FIS) on Russian athletes.
On March 1, the Norwegian Ski Federation suspended Russian athletes from competitions held in the country. The FIS later extended the ban to all competitions under the auspices of the organization.
