Valladolid ended the career of Arenas in the Copa del Rey after thrashing for 1-5 This Wednesday, December 21, in the second cup tie that was played in Gobela (Getxo, Bizkaia).
Arenas, from Segunda RFEF, jumped onto the pitch without complexes. The Biscayan team was intense, and put Valladolid in the First Division in trouble. Thus, the locals received the award for their impetus in the 29th minute, thanks to the goal by Bengoetxea (1-0) who headed into the net a good cross from Elorza.
The goal for the team from Biscay made the stands explode with joy, but the happiness did not last long, since Escudero tied the game (1-1) in the 34th minute with a good header.
After making it 1-1 on the scoreboard, Valladolid played more calmly, began to dominate, and came from behind just before the break, thanks to the goal by Weissman (1-2) at minute 45.
In the resumption, the superiority of the visiting team was total. So, at minute 53, Iván Sánchez set the triumph of Pucela’s team on track after scoring 1-3.
Arenas tried to get back into the game, but it hardly worried the rival goalkeeper Sergio Asenjo. In the final stretch, the visitors were far superior, and rounded off their victory with goals from Kike Pérez (1-4, min. 76) Y Sergio Leon (1-5, min. 80).
In the end, defeat of an Arenas (1-5) that for a few moments made his fans dream big.
