The thirty-ninth edition of the Cycling Tour of Ecuador will be held between November 12 and 19, with the participation of nineteen teams and 127 cyclists, who will travel 1,178 kilometers in eight stages, said manager Santiago Rosero on Wednesday.

“The 2022 Cycling Tour of Ecuador will have eight stages, 19 teams (national, international, continental) and 127 participating cyclists, a considerable number for a UCI tour,” said Rosero, president of the Ecuadorian Cycling Federation (FEC).
The manager said that the XXXIX edition of the Vuelta will be one of the most complex that have been disputedand he was sure that the participating cyclists will enjoy from the first stage.

For his part, the Minister of Sport, Sebastián Palacios, specified that the Government has allocated $200,000 for the organization of the tournament, in addition to the contribution of the private company that promotes national cycling, “since it is considered one of the most important sporting events from Ecuador,” he said.
Among the countries and teams that will be represented in the Vuelta will be Colombia, the United States, Mexico, Peru and the Dominican Republic, while among the most representative teams will be Movistar-Best PC, Team Banco Guayaquil Ecuador and Team Medellín, from Colombia.

The organization will take advantage of the expectation of the event to carry out the Youth Tour and the first edition of the Ecuador Women’s Tour, between November 15 and 18.
The first stage will be held between Samborondón and El Empalme (Guayas). The competition will end with a circuit in the Middle of the World, in Quito. (D)
