Despite the break in Serie A, Fiorentina is loud. In fact, the theme of the incident that happened last season returned. One of his “heroes” was a fan of the Italian club. Recall, on November 27, 2021, Fiorentina played away from Empoli. The match ended with a 1:2 defeat. Greta Beccaglia, a Toscana TV reporter, reported the situation and the reactions of the fans outside the stadium. Crowds passed the journalist, but one of the fans could not control himself and slapped her ass. The case eventually went to the police, and now it has found its finale in the courtroom.
A verdict has been passed in the case of harassment of a journalist. The court had no mercy for the Fiorentina fan
The incident took place on video, and the perpetrator’s face was immortalized on cameras. A representative of the media reported the matter to the police, who quickly established the identity of the man. Based on the video recording and testimonies of witnesses, it was established that the crime was committed by restaurateur Andrea Serrani. The woman did not give up and filed a lawsuit. After more than a year, the verdict was delivered.
The man was sentenced to one year and six months in prison. The court conditionally suspended the sentence for five years. But that’s not the end. The judiciary also awarded compensation to the victim. The amount has not yet been determined. However, it is known that Serrani will have to pay an additional 10,000 euros to the account, among others National and Tuscan Press Association. What’s more, the perpetrator will also have to undergo special therapy.
– I am glad that I drew the attention of the judiciary to the violation of the law. I did it not only for myself, but above all for other women to give them a signal to fight harassment. I believe that the verdict is a step forward, it puts an end to gestures that are not normal – emphasized the journalist after leaving the courtroom.
After this incident, not only Serrani was criticized, but also Beccaglia’s colleague who was running the studio that day. When the reporter was hit in the buttock, she politely warned the fan not to make such gestures. Giorgio Micheletti disagreed with her reaction. Instead of taking his friend’s defense, he ignored the situation. – Don’t be angry, with such experiences you will also develop – he replied on the vision.
