In the classification of the Nations Cup, Poland was on the third podium before the start of the competition in Engelberg, Switzerland. Her situation was significantly improved by Saturday’s competition, which was won by Slovene Anze Lanisek, but it meant that Poland advanced from third to second place and the only better team is Austria.

Jakub Wolny started, but he has been jumping poorly since the beginning of the season, even now. His result is 105.5 meters. He is the last of the competitors starting in the competition. Aleksander Zniszczol landed several meters away. He landed at 119.5 m. He received compensation for the wind in the form of 3.4 points and thanks to this result he was in 4th place after the jump. He eventually dropped to 37th place. Kamil Stoch had to jump 132.5 meters to qualify for the second round, but he failed. He jumped 117.5 meters. He didn’t get high marks either. He took 39th place. Piotr Żyła did not disappoint, who despite lowering the beam jumped as much as 139.5 meters. Thanks to this, he jumped to the 3rd place in the classification. He was only 0.6 points behind the leader. Even better was Dawid Kubacki, who after the jump took first place in the classification with the result of 141.5 m and 157.4 points.

The high place went to Halvor Egner Granerud, who missed the leader by 0.6 points, but scored points for Norway in the Nations Cup classification. The judges assessed Piotr Żyła a little worse, who jumped 134 meters and finished the competition in 5th place. The winner of Sunday’s competition in Engelberg was Dawid Kubacki, who jumped 135.5 meters and gained 300.4 points, more than three points more than the second Manuel Fettner from Austria and more than six points from Anzy Lanisek.

The results of the Poles gave important points in the Nations Cup classification, but the places of Fettner, Stefan Kraft and Michael Hayboeck made Austria move away to 178 points. However, we managed to dodge
