Amaia Aldai is the 2022 Four and a Half champion of the Emakume Master Cup. Dima’s pelotari (Bizkaia) won the final against Olatz Arrizabalaga 22-15 in Amorebieta-Etxano.
Aldai put on his txapela for the second time in a row. He revalidated the 2021 title that he achieved after beating Arrillaga in the final of the last edition.
The first goal of the final was achieved by Olatz Arrizabalaga (0-1)but Amaia Aldai’s reaction was immediate after scoring six goals in a row (6-1). Later, Arrizabalaga reduced the distances, and got closer on the scoreboard (7-5). In those moments of the meeting, equality prevailed. Arrizabalaga went through a great moment in that section of the clash and was only one goal away (8-7). However, Aldai endured the good run of his rival, recovered, and reached the middle of the game with a favorable result of 11-8.
Later, Amaia Aldai extended her advantage (15-10)but Olatz Arrizabalaga did not lower his arms, he continued working, and got back into the match (15-13).
The final came quite even to the final stretch. It was then that Amaia Aldai pulled the repertoire. Dima’s offered the best level of hers, opened a gap on the scoreboard (21-14)and left victory on track.
Arrizabala continued to fight until the end, but there was little else he could do given the great level his opponent showed. In the end, victory for Amaia Aldai (22-15).
