Luis de la Fuente, Luis Enrique’s replacement as Spain coach

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has confirmed this Thursday the non-continuation of Luis Enrique as coach of the national team and has announced that the Asturian’s place will be occupied by La Rioja Louis of the Source

From the source (Haro, La Rioja 1961) has been in the Federation structure since 2013 and in 2015 he was proclaimed European champion with the under-19 team and in 2018 he was a gold medalist in the Mediterranean Games with the under-18 team.

Subsequently, in July 2018 he was named U-21 coach and a year later, in 2019, he was proclaimed European champion in Italy after beating Germany (2-1) in the final. He was also an Olympic coach, winning the silver medal at the Tokyo 2020 Games.

Previously, he led Portugalete, Aurrera de Vitoria, Bilbao Athletic Y Deportivo Alaves at the same time that he focused on youth football.

As a player he played in the Athletic in two stages (1980-87 and 1991-1993), Seville (1987-91) and Alaves (1993-94). In the case of the first two clubs, it did so in First divisionwhile in his last season as a professional he played in Second Division B.
