“We never gave up”, says Cristiano Ronaldo, decisive in the draw against Atalanta

Cristiano Ronaldo was decisive in the Champions League. This Tuesday, the Portuguese scored both Manchester United goals in the draw against Atalanta, in Italy. The owners of the house were winning 2-1 until 45 of the second half, until the shirt 7 of the Red Devils ensured equality on the scoreboard.

After the end of the match, Ronaldo praised the achieved result.

“It was a difficult game. I knew that playing in Bergamo is always difficult, but we believed until the end and I am very happy. We never gave up and believed until the end. It’s a good result for us,” he told BT Sports.

“The beginning was tough, we knew that Atalanta would put a lot of pressure. They have a fantastic coach. When I played for Juventus, they were always a tough team to face. We had a bit of luck in the end, but this is football. We know that we still have to improve, we have different players, a new system and it takes time to adapt”, he added.

With the tie, the English club remains at the top of group F, with seven points. Then comes Villarreal, with the same score, and Atalanta, with five. Young Boys are the lantern, with three points won.

United returns to the Champions field only on November 23, when they face Villarreal, away from home. Before that, the Red Devils have important commitments in the English Championship.
