Guardiola on chance to spare Haaland against Copenhagen: “We’ll talk to the physios”

Coach Pep Guardiola of the Manchester City, spoke on Monday about the chance to spare striker Erling Haaland for the match against Copenhagen, next Tuesday. The game is valid for the fourth round of the Champions League group stage.

“We will talk to the physiotherapists and then decide…”, said Guardiola, who did not rule out resting his main player. Haaland started all 13 of City’s official games this season and has an impressive 20 goals scored in the period.

City played last Saturday, having beaten Southampton 4-0 in the Premier League. Haaland scored the last goal of the victory, after assisting João Cancelo.

The City manager also did not miss the opportunity to praise his striker once again. “He’s one of the best. I’ve had a lot of very, very good strikers and Erling is one of them. I talk about him a lot, but sometimes I shouldn’t because numbers, they do that…”, he commented at a press conference.

City’s situation in the Champions League is calm. The English team leads group G with nine points won, three more than Borussia Dortmund.

The match against Copenhagen will be on Tuesday, at 13:45 (Brasília time), on the lawn of the Parken Stadium, in Denmark. In the last round of the continental tournament, the citizens thrashed the Danish team 5-0 at the Etihad Stadium.
