Trying to isolate themselves at the top of the group, Real Madrid host Shakhtar for the Champions League

Real Madrid is trying to get closer to qualifying in the Champions League this Wednesday, at 2:45 pm (GMT), against Shakhtar Donetsk. The match will take place at the Santiago Bernabéu, by Group D.

The Spaniards share the lead in the bracket with the Sheriff. A victory could send Real Madrid forward.

So much so that coach Carlo Ancelotti preached focus on the importance of a good result.

“We know our opponents well. It means a lot to win this game at a key moment in the group. There is a big difference between winning and losing in this game,” he said.

On the other hand, Shakhtar are not having a good campaign in this edition of the Champions. A defeat can seal the elimination of the Ukrainians.

Coach Roberto De Zerbi stated that he will not change the team’s style of play due to the need to win.

“We will continue with our game principles. We work together for three or four months and we know perfectly well how we can progress. Our progress can be made through games of this type, with difficult opponents. We will demonstrate our game philosophy, regardless of the enemy to be strong or not,” he declared.

In the other match of the bracket, Internazionale tries to beat the Sheriff again, this time away from home, to return to the fight for classification.

B Group

Also on Wednesday, Liverpool tries to forward its classification, against Atletico Madrid, in Anfield.

In the other group match, Milan seek the first points in the group stage against Porto at San Siro.
