In that venue, what Uefa calls “The Miracle of Istanbul” took place, due to the way in which Liverpool was crowned champion against AC Milan, after drawing 3-3 and then winning 3-2 on penalties.

In that match held in 2005, Milan led 3-0 at the end of the first half, but never expected that Liverpool would tie the match in just seven minutes between fractions 54 and 60.

The parity only served for the English led by Rafa Benítez to keep the trophy on penalties.
