Former SKA hockey player Tsvetkov said that CSKA framed Ivan Fedotov, who was drafted into the army
Former striker of the St. Petersburg SKA Sergei Tsvetkov spoke about the conscription of the Russian hockey player Ivan Fedotov. His words are quoted by Sport Weekend.
“As for Fedotov, this is a natural nightmare! Purely TsSKovsky set-up, one hundred percent. The guy just didn’t renew his contract. I was supposed to go to Philadelphia, but instead they put him in a submarine, ”said the hockey player. He added that in Soviet times he had not come across anything like this.
On July 1, Fedotov was detained in St. Petersburg on suspicion of evading military service. He had to fly to the United States to play for the Philadelphia Flyers in the National Hockey League (NHL) next season.
Later it became known that Fedotov was taken to the training unit of the Russian Navy for military service. He took the oath behind closed doors on 13 July. Fedotov expressed his desire to quickly resolve this situation and serve the country as a hockey player.
