The president of the Ecuadorian Football Federation (FEF), Francisco Egas, expressed his concern about the commitments for work and adaptations that must be fulfilled at the Monumental Banco Pichincha stadium for the single final of the Copa Libertadores 2022 in Guayaquil next October 29.
“There are some commitments that have to be fulfilled, but if they are not fulfilled we will not be able to have the final. And I say we will have, because I am the main interested in the final taking place in Ecuador”, Egas told the radio. Yes, it must be said that there are certain commitments that have to be fulfilled regarding the care of the stadium and that is something with which Conmebol is very blunt and very demanding, and Barcelona has to know that”.
The head of the FEF remarked that the Conmebol project manager is coming to visit the country this week to review the progress of the project.
Regarding this issue, the Municipality of Guayaquil indicated in a statement that this Thursday they received officials from the South American Football Confederation and the FEF at the Municipal Palace to review details about the event of the single final of the Libertadores.
With Deputy Mayor Josué Sánchez at the head, he reported an agreement with the FEF for the transfer of 2 million dollars to make adjustments to the Monumental, in accordance with the parameters established by the rector of South American football.
According to the official letter from the Municipality, the match for the title of the 2022 edition of the Copa Libertadores has been scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 29.
