The European pre-season is in full swing and, with that, European clubs leave their continent to play friendlies around the world. This Wednesday, Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Everton will face off in the United States to be more and more prepared for the season.
For the Florida Cup, Chelsea will play against North American Charlotte FC, at 8:30 pm (GMT), at Bank of America Stadium, in Charlotte. The London team will be able to see the debut of Raheem Sterling, who arrived from Manchester City. Last Saturday, the “Blues” beat Club América, from Mexico, 2-1, also on North American soil.
At the same time, also for the Florida Cup, Arsenal face Orlando City, from the USA, at Exploria Stadium, in Orlando. The English have already played two friendlies this pre-season, against Nuremberg, from Germany, and Everton. The team won two of the duels, 5-3 and 2-0, respectively.
Still at 8:30 pm, Bayern Munich plays against DC United, at Audi Field, in Washington. The Germans can have the debut of Sadio Mané. The Senegalese striker left Liverpool after six years playing in England and cost more than R$170 million to the Bavarian club’s coffers.
Everton, after last Saturday’s defeat to Arsenal, plays against Minnesota United. The match will be at 21:00, at the opponent’s stadium, Allianz Field, in Minnesota. Everton are looking to settle down after the departure of Brazilian Richarlison, who left the Liverpool team to play for Tottenham.
Finally, Manchester City play their first match of the pre-season against Club América at NRG Stadium in Houston at 21:30. Pep Guardiola’s team should have the debut of striker Erling Haaland, who arrived at the club after leaving Germany’s Borussia Dortmund.
