The cost of the investment is $20,157.32. The French ambassador in Ecuador, Frédéric Desagneaux, pointed out that this cooperation is aimed at reinforcing security for Ecuadorians.
The Minister of the Interior, Patricio Carrillo, who received the donation and thanked the French Government, said that these teams “will serve to carry out strategic anticipation and learn about behavior patterns, in order to redesign and rethink the security policy in the anti-criminal brigades. ”.
Given the wave of violence that has occurred in the capital and other cities of Ecuador, the head of this State portfolio added that they are forced to rethink security from a State intervention, a comprehensive policy in which all entities join efforts.

With this, it is expected to facilitate intelligence and investigation work to dismantle organizations that commit crimes against property in the Metropolitan District of Quito (DMQ).
According to figures from the Ministry of Government, in 2021, 14,529 robberies were registered in the DMQ, one of the biggest crimes against property. So far in 2022, only in January and February, 2,429 thefts were reported; and compared to the same period of the previous year there is an increase of 267 thefts. (I)
