The leaders of the G7 country in an online meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky promised to continue to support the country.
Their statement notes that the conflict in Ukraine poses a serious threat to global food security. They called for “not allowing Russia to win,” and also expressed their readiness to provide Ukraine with a “democratic future” and “repel possible acts of aggression” against it, TASS reports.
In particular, the G7 countries intend to continue supplying weapons to Kyiv and deepening cooperation with it, including economic and energy ones.
In addition, the G7 countries have pledged to phase out oil imports from Russia. According to a source in the White House, while the United States wants to maintain a stable volume of global energy supply, despite the sanctions against the Russian Federation.
Zelensky, in turn, called his goal “to achieve the complete withdrawal of the Russian forces from the entire territory of Ukraine and to gain the ability to defend themselves.”
