In the Belgorod region, official Galina Shapovalova came to an event on the anniversary of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant (ChNPP) in a dress with the inscription Party (“party” – the most common translation from English – ed.). Pictures from the event were published on the page of the Shebekinsky local branch of the United Russia party on the VKontakte social network.

The outfit of the official caused a mixed reaction from local residents. They published their comments in the group “Whisper Shebekino” in “VK”.

“In general, it was possible to observe the dress code. After all, this is not a meeting or a party, ”wrote user Elena Korotenko.

Someone mentioned that the word Party can be translated as a party. However, another user responded by pointing out that it’s unlikely that “they will write ‘party’ in shiny letters” on the dress.

“And in the evening she is at the party,” commentator Vladimir Kizhov joked.

Later, the official commented on her outfit, and the pictures that caused a great resonance were simply deleted from the party’s page on the social network. True, the photos were saved in the cache.

So, Shapovalova explained that she did not want to offend anyone, but she deliberately chose such a dress.

“Being a certified specialist in the field of foreign languages, the secretary considered that this inscription means the word “party”, and therefore made a choice in favor of this outfit,” the official specified, assuring that “this situation will not happen again” in the future.

Recall that the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant occurred on April 26, 1986. It is considered one of the largest man-made disasters in history.
