President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky offered the EU countries to Europe to exchange gas for electricity produced by Ukrainian stations. He told the Polish media about this, adding that these negotiations had already begun, and emphasizing the mutual benefit of the participants in the deal.

“We will gladly give the opportunity not to depend on Russia and provide electricity, and, on the other hand, on mutual friendly relations we can receive that insufficient amount of gas for us, for example, from Europe. To give electricity – to receive gas, ”TASS news agency quotes Zelensky.

According to the Ukrainian leader, a significant part of Ukraine’s electricity is produced by nuclear power plants, which guarantees its attractive price for European partners.

At the same time, Zelensky acknowledged that at the moment Ukraine does not have the technical ability to implement such supplies, but believes that with proper preparation, such opportunities can be provided to many countries, in particular, Moldova and Romania.

The President of Ukraine, who proposes such a scheme to partners from the EU, is driven by the need to compensate for the country’s budget deficit. The lack of finance in the country, according to him, is about five to seven billion euros per month, so Kyiv needs “the generation of this money.”
