Chone, MANABI
Robert Alexander Cornejo Rivadeneira, 27, was murdered hit-man style when he was traveling aboard a van along kilometer 10 of the Chone-Flavio Alfaro highway, north of Manabí.
The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, April 22.
After the alert received by ECU911, police officers immediately moved to the scene.
According to the first investigations, the uniformed officers determined that at least two men, who were traveling on a motorcycle, approached the single-cab truck to attack Cornejo, who was in the driver’s seat.
The assailants fired repeatedly at the victim, even the projectiles went through the window of the door. After that, they withdrew from the site and Cornejo was left lifeless inside the cabin of the car.
Firefighters and National Police personnel only verified the death of Robert Alexander, in the Guayas license plate vehicle.
Neighbors indicated that about ten detonations were heard at the time of the attack.
After the authorization of the prosecutor on duty, agents of Criminalistics and the Directorate of Violent Deaths (Dinased) carried out the removal of the body and collaborated with the transfer to the Manta Forensic Center.
The victim was the second of four brothers and leaves an underage girl as an orphan. (I)
