A policeman was shot with two antisocials who tried to rob him

With one shot, a uniformed member of the National Police who provides his services in the Buena Fe canton, in the province of Los Ríos, was able to get rid of two antisocials who tried to steal his service weapon.

The gunfight took place on the night of Sunday, April 24, between Simón Parra and Mariana Rodríguez streets, in that canton of Fluminense.

The uniformed officer said that the violent act originated when he was on his way, dressed in civilian clothes, from his house to the Buena Fe Police District. It was on the way when the police officer observed the two suspects, who were traveling on a motorcycle. They intimidated him to steal his belongings.

As a result of the attack, a struggle arose and the criminals realized that the victim was a police officer because he was carrying a firearm, so they began to shoot.

The uniformed man responded with a single shot and ended up wounding one of the subjects, while the other fled on the motorcycle that he left abandoned meters later and escaped.

Telmo Marcel, head of the Buena Fe-Valencia Police District, reported that the injured attacker is in a health home in the Quevedo canton with a reserved prognosis and that legal actions are already being processed by the Prosecutor’s Office.

Regarding the situation of the uniformed officer, he clarified that he is working normally and his staff weapon has already been delivered so that the respective expert opinion can be carried out.

In addition, he clarified that the same policeman who was attacked was the one who called ECU911 so that the wounded man, identified as Julio ZA, 28, could be attended to immediately, and at the same time he made a request for support from his colleagues in the Police.

The wounded man, according to the police, registers a current arrest warrant for non-compliance with the order of the competent authority. (I)
