At the age of 64, actress Alexandra Yakovleva died after an illness. Director Nikolai Lebedev told RIA Novosti about this.
Yakovleva became famous when the first Soviet disaster film “Crew” was released, in which she played the role of flight attendant Tamara.
The next bright role of the actress was in the film “Magicians” directed by Konstantin Bromberg based on the script of the Strugatsky brothers. This was followed by the role of Miss Diana Little in Alla Surikova’s comedy The Man from Boulevard des Capucines.
In the 90s, Yakovleva took up social and political activities in her native Kaliningrad. She was Vice Mayor and Deputy Minister of Culture for Tourism. In 1997, she ran for mayor of Kaliningrad, but lost. Then she entered the Polytechnic Institute and graduated with a degree in State and Municipal Administration. Later, she headed the quality and personnel management service at St. Petersburg Pulkovo Airport, and held a senior position at Russian Railways.
Alexandra Yakovleva was married three times. The first husband of the actress is her fellow student Valery Kukhareshin. The second husband is journalist Alexander Nevzorov. The third husband is the skydiver Kalyu Aasmäe.
In the summer of 2017, Alexandra announced her separation from her husband and at the Moscow International Film Festival introduced her new lover to the public – the young actor Denis Bondarenko. He was 30 years younger than Yakovleva.
In May 2019, Alexandra Yakovleva announced that she had been diagnosed with terminal breast cancer two years earlier.
