The US Department of Defense is “gathering evidence” of “war crimes” during a special operation in Ukraine. This was told by Pentagon spokesman John Kirby at a briefing.

“An investigation is underway, which will continue, we are going to contribute to this investigation,” Kirby explained, quoted by TASS.

The United States only collects information, including about the actions of Russia, and “international institutions will deal with it,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki added.

Recall that on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a special military operation in Ukraine. In response to this decision, sanctions began to be imposed on Russia. The Russian and Ukrainian delegations held a series of talks on the situation. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov expressed the hope that the Russian special operation in Ukraine will end with the signing of comprehensive documents. They will touch upon the issues of the neutral status of Ukraine, security and the law on the Russian language.
