Tourists fell into the river when the bridge collapsed in Puyo; there are eight wounded

Around 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, the second suspension bridge on the Puyo tourist promenade, Pastaza province, collapsed and injured eight people, who at that time were in the structure and fell into the waters of the Puyo River.

Rescue personnel from the Pastaza Fire Department announced that they treated three women aged 19, 28 and 58, as well as two men aged 40 and 60. After the first aid they received at the site, they were transferred to the General del Puyo and IESS (Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security) hospitals, where they were admitted for presenting polycontusions.
