The alert was given by Marco (protected name), 28, to ECU911. The entity coordinated the dispatch of police officers to the vicinity of the Bellavista stadium, in Ambato, and there the young man told the uniformed officers that he would have been raped by Marlon N., a friend with whom he had been libating since Friday night in a park.
Lieutenant Colonel Julio Calvopiña, head of the Ambato Sur National Police district, mentioned that this alleged case of sexual violence was generated between known people who were libating with two other friends. The alleged rape would have been perpetrated early Saturday morning, he said.

Calvopiña indicated that so far no one has been arrested in the case, that the investigations continue, that the skills were also carried out immediately and that they are working together with the Prosecutor’s Office.
He argued that it is clear that the trigger for events such as the one that apparently occurred on Saturday is the consumption of alcohol, which is why they work with the authorities of the province, cantons and parishes to control, above all, the public space with operations especially on weekends with the libador retreat.

On the other hand, a close relative of the alleged victim regretted the incident and said that they are not going to file a complaint because they fear some kind of retaliation, but they do not trust the justice system either.
