Russia is not discussing with Ukraine the renewal of the ceasefire for the period of negotiations. This was announced by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, according to TASS.
“No, the fact is that the stoppage of the operation, any stoppage, is used by the nationalist units for regrouping, is used in order to continue attacks on the Russian military,” he answered the relevant question.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a special military operation in Ukraine. In response to this decision, sanctions began to be imposed on Russia. The Russian and Ukrainian delegations held a series of talks on the situation. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov expressed the hope that the Russian special operation in Ukraine will end with the signing of comprehensive documents. They will touch upon the issues of the neutral status of Ukraine, security and the law on the Russian language.
Peskov stated that the Austrian or Swedish version of a neutral state is considered in the discussion of Ukraine. It involves the rejection of the deployment of bases of foreign states and a non-bloc status. At the same time, a country can have its own army and navy.
