The unprecedented situation in terms of imposing hatred of everything Russian requires appropriate solutions. This, according to TASS, was stated by the press secretary of the head of the Russian state Dmitry Peskov.

“Obviously, the situation we are facing is absolutely unprecedented in terms of imposing absolute hatred for everything Russian, be it Russian missions, Russian citizens, be it foreign citizens, Russian by origin,” he said.

According to him, “everyone is now simply faced with hatred, with harassment, with situations that sometimes begin to pose a threat to health and life,” so this requires solutions.

As for the bill to expand the punishment for fakes about the Russian Federation, in particular about the work of state bodies of the country abroad, Peskov could not comment on it, since he is not familiar with the document.

The State Duma Committee on State Construction recommended the adoption of an amendment expanding the scope of the law on punishment for fakes.

It is proposed to supplement the previously adopted norms in the Criminal Code and the Code of Administrative Offenses, establishing responsibility for fakes about the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, with changes. Now they will also be punished for disseminating deliberately false information about the activities of state bodies abroad and publicly discrediting them.

“These norms will affect not only those who participate in a special military operation in Ukraine, but along with the Armed Forces, there are also the National Guard and the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Everyone who defends the interests of Russia outside its borders – whether they wear shoulder straps or not – must be reliably protected from any provocations, lies and “darkness”. For example, our embassies, trade missions and diplomatic missions or representative offices of Rossotrudnichestvo, ”explained Alexander Khinshtein, one of the authors of the document, chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communications.

On February 24, the President of the Russian Federation announced the start of a special military operation in Ukraine. After that, sanctions began to be imposed on Russia, and some companies suspended their activities.
